ACN - American Communications Network - a pyramid scheme scam? What Donald Trump thinks on MLM?

ACN is internetional telecomunication provider. ACN started in January 1993 r. in US, now operates in 18 countries on 3 continents. Milions of customers bring revenue of half billion euro, increasing.

Customers can use VOIP telephone dialling, by voip data networking thus saving money on telephone bills Obviously ACN is not only VOIP company in country :).

ACN company pays it's "salesmen" for finding new customers. It works in multi-level, MLM, like for example Amway (Alticor, Quixtar).

ACN strongly insist on this, that new customers were know personally by "salesman", and discourages so called "cold marketing" - finding clients through public meetongs, media ads, and by using sales materials not created by ACN.

ACN - a scam?

Some pople regard ACN as pyramid scam scheme and that most money is made in new "reps" fees.

The Canadian Competition Bureau has probably charged All Communications Network of Canada (ACNs subsidiary in Canada) with deceptive marketing and operating an illegal pyramid scheme.

Legal problems in Australia

ACN

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Australian gov agency for consumer protection, probably started proceedings against ACN's Australian operations on charges of operating as an illegal pyramid. On March 2005, found that ACN had induced their representatives to take part in an illegal pyramid scheme as defined in section 65AAC of the Trade Practices Act 1974, but this ruling was overturned by the Full Federal Court on October 2005. The ACCC applied to appeal to the High Court of Australia on November. As of late July 2006, the High Court of Australia refused the ACCC's appeal. It did not say that ACN was not a pyramid.

Or perhaps it is not so fishy?

The Australian Federal Court's decision was overturned, and the Competition Bureau's case did not survive the preliminary hearing.

ACN complaints

Some people reports trouble with ACN customer service.

ACN was probably accused of, and settled, a lawsuit in Pennsylvania for "slamming" - chainging a customer's service without their consent.

Some people complain that ACN reps told them, that it is free to switch back to old phone company, and that is was a lie, since the had to pay the old phone company to go back.

And ACN filed the complaint against Pacific Bell - On July 8, 1997, ACN Communications, Inc. filed formal complaint against Pacific Bell complaining that Pacific Bell was violating 202(a) and 252(i) of the Communications Act (Act), 47 U.S.C. 202(a) and 252(i), by refusing to make available to ACN the terms and conditions of an interconnection agreement.

ACN is a great company. How do I know? Because we have done a lot of research. I can't tell you how many proposals I turn down every day. I look forward to working with ACN and all the Independent Representatives.

ACN review

Here is my, subjective, review.

ACN is not good opportunity, although many people will tell so. I have heard many bad opinions about results of "working" for ACN, and only one positive, when a very young person recruited one more person (rep), earned about $100-$200 and was very happy with that kind of money.

But those above are other people opinions. And mine opinion is like this:

The earnings made by selling services are small. Very, very small. As I wrote below, you can have 40 customers and hardly break even! The main money is made by sucking new people into the scheme. They pay the company, and the company give you some percentage of what they paid. And this is very, very similar to pyramid scheme.

Why guy like Donald Trump endorse it? I do not know, but he lately made some strange movements like this - for example co-authoring a book with Robert Kiyosaki, who is admired by some people, and severily ridiculed by anothers.

Is there money in ACN?

Some people say that most money is made from recruiting new Reps, as in pyramid scheme.

VIII(C), Customer Acquisition Bonuses (CABs) Customer Acquisition Bonuses are paid to Independent Representatives at the level of Executive Team Trainer or higher...

So you don't get bonuses until you've risen within the organization.

There are cost of being ACN Rep. About 499 USD to begin, about 149 yearly - annual fee, monthly fees about six bucks and administrative fee of $1. It is about 230 USD yearly. At 1% commission, total billing would have to be over $23,000 or about $1940/mo. That's about 40 average customers. And this is to break even!
